I spent a whole Saturday trying to fix my own dryer vent
I watched a video from a guy named Mike who said it was a simple 30 minute job. Three hours later, I had a pile of lint in my garage and a hose that wouldn't reconnect. I learned that 'simple' on YouTube often means 'requires a second person and a special clamp tool I don't own'. Anyone else have a home repair that spiraled way out of control?

Oh man, I feel your pain! That exact thing happened to me last year. The trick is to get the hose on the vent pipe first before you try to attach it to the dryer. Use a little dish soap on the pipe end to make it slide on easier. And yeah, you absolutely need that special clamp tool, the regular pliers just don't work. I had to make a second trip to the hardware store too.

Second trip to the hardware store is the worst part lol. I had to go back three times for that same clamp tool because I kept buying the wrong size. That project really tests your patience.

Actually you can use regular pliers if you pinch the clamp at the right angle, it's just way harder.
