I swore I'd never trust autopay with my bills

I always thought autopay was for people who didn't care about their money. Then I forgot a credit card payment and got hit with a fee. Now I have everything on auto, and I haven't missed a date since. It turns out letting go of control actually helps me stay on top of things. My bank account is happier now, and so am I.

Tbh, letting go of control seems risky since I've seen autopay mess up charges.

Man, what gets me is the mental space it frees up. I used to have this running list in my head of due dates, and I'd get that little jolt of panic every few days. Now that my bills are automated, that noise is just gone. It's like my brain has one less chore to do. I can actually forget about bills, which feels weirdly responsible.

Wait, didn't you hate autopay too?

Yeah, it's funny how that works. I was the same about needing control until late fees piled up. Now the system just works and I don't stress.

Totally, I fought it for years (and paid for it) before finally giving in.
