I used to buy cheap trash bags to save money, but that backfired hard
For years I was buying those 50 cent store brand bags from the Giant on Elm Street, figuring a bag is a bag right? Then last month I pulled one out and the handle ripped clean off, sending coffee grounds and eggshells all over my kitchen floor at 6am. I finally splurged on a box of Glad ForceFlex and I swear I've had zero rips in three weeks. Has anyone else found a cheap product that actually cost them more in the long run?

I get what you're saying but I actually kinda disagree with the "cheap cost more" idea. You mentioned buying the 50 cent store brand bags from Giant and having one break, but one bag out of a whole box isn't really a disaster unless you're unlucky. I've been using the generic bags from Aldi for like two years now and I think I've had maybe one or two handles snap total. The Glad ForceFlex stuff is fine but it's like twice the price and most of the time the cheap ones work just as well for me. Maybe it depends on what you throw away or how full you stuff them, but I don't think a single bad morning proves the cheap route is a scam. Sometimes you just get a dud bag.

Wait, hold on. You've been using the Aldi generic bags for two YEARS and only had a couple handle snaps? That's wild to me because I swear the Giant brand ones would split if you looked at them wrong. I had a whole box of those and at least five or six bags would tear just from me pulling them out of the box. You must be living right or something because my experience was the complete opposite. I get that one bag breaking isn't the end of the world, but for me it was like every third bag had some issue. Maybe your Aldi bags are different from the Giant ones but I'm still shocked you had such good luck with cheapies.
