I used to think meal prepping on Sundays was a great idea. Three years of trying later, I'm finally done pretending.

I saw such a huge difference between my first year of trying it and now. In 2021 I was all gung ho, prepping 15 meals every Sunday from some blog by a girl named Jenna. But after month three I realized I was tossing half the food because I'd get sick of chicken and rice by Wednesday. Now I just cook one extra portion of whatever I make for dinner that night and call it a day. Anyone else ditch the big meal prep routine for something simpler?

My sister went through this exact same thing last year but she took it to a whole other level. She bought this giant whiteboard and color coded her meals for the week with little drawings of veggies. By Tuesday she was ordering pizza and lying to herself about it. The whiteboard is still on her wall but now it just has to do lists for random stuff like buying cat food. I think meal prepping makes you feel productive but then you remember you actually have to eat the same thing six times. Now I just throw extra meat and veggies in the pan when I cook dinner and call it good enough.

Dude same. I went hard on meal prep for like two months back in 2020, had all these little plastic containers stacked in my fridge. By Thursday I was eating cold chicken over the sink just to get through it. Now I just cook extra pasta or throw some leftover tacos together. Way less pressure lol.

Was that cold chicken thing just from burnout or were you trying to make yourself hate meal prep forever? Do you still have that stack of containers sitting around mocking you?
