My grocery budget used to be a fun guessing game, now it's a spreadsheet with 47 tabs
Back in my 20s I'd walk into a Publix in Tampa with $60 and just throw stuff in the cart. Some weeks I'd eat like a king, other weeks it was ramen and shame. Fast forward to last Tuesday, I spent 2 hours sorting receipts by store and category because I needed to know if the 89 cent bag of carrots from Aldi was worth the extra gas money. My girlfriend caught me color coding the produce section and just shook her head. When did this happen? Was there a specific moment where we all turn into our parents or does it creep up slowly? Anyone else have a budget system that's way more effort than the money it saves?
