That week my washing machine died and I had to hand-wash everything for 5 days
Last Tuesday my washer just stopped mid-cycle with a horrible grinding noise and a puddle on the floor. I spent $85 on a repair guy who told me the drum bearings were shot and it would cost more than a new machine to fix. So I spent the next 3 days hand-washing jeans and towels in the bathtub (my arms were so sore). I finally found a decent used top-loader on Facebook Marketplace for $150 and hauled it home with a friend's truck. The whole ordeal cost me $235 total and a week of my life I'll never get back. Has anyone else had a major appliance die at the worst possible time? Like right before a holiday or something.

Oh man, that is just brutal. Five days of bathtub laundry sounds like my own personal version of hell, my arms hurt just thinking about it. Solidarity, seriously.

My coworker Brenda's fridge died the night before Thanksgiving and she lost a whole turkey.

Man that's rough. It's funny how the universe always seems to pick the worst possible time to break the stuff you rely on most.
