The drain snake that saved me 200 bucks last weekend

My bathroom sink clogged up on Saturday morning, like completely stopped draining. I was about to call a plumber but my neighbor loaned me his 25 foot drum auger from Harbor Freight. Took me 45 minutes to fish out a massive glob of toothpaste and hair, but it saved me the $200 minimum a plumber would have charged around here. Anyone else got a cheap fix tool they swear by that keeps them out of the professional fix-it loop?

Did you use a hand crank or one that goes on a drill? I found the hand crank ones work better for bathroom sinks since you can feel exactly when you hit the clog.

Plumbers have insurance and know how to not punch a hole through your pipe with that snake.

A drain snake is pretty straightforward once you know what to feel for.
