Trying to file a simple insurance claim turned into a 4 month nightmare
I backed into a pole in the grocery store parking lot in February and the claim still isn't fully closed. Anyone else spent way too many hours on hold only to get transferred to the wrong department?

Holy crap, February?! So youve been dealing with this for over 4 months for something that shouldve taken a couple weeks at most. I honestly dont know how you havent lost your mind yet. I spent 3 hours on hold with my insurance once and nearly threw my phone across the room. You must have the patience of a saint to still be at it.

That 4 month timeline is brutal. I actually read a report recently that said insurance companies are using automated systems to intentionally slow down smaller claims so people just give up. Not saying that's what happened here for sure, but it makes you wonder. My brother had a similar fender bender last year and they lost his paperwork three times before he finally got it sorted out. The whole system feels like it's designed to wear you down until you just accept whatever they offer.
