The 2 a.m. confession that made me question my whole friendship circle

Last Thursday I was up late scrolling through old texts and found a thread from three years ago where my best friend and I basically planned our whole lives together. Then I looked at our current conversation, which is just him sending memes and me replying 'lol' once a day. Honestly it hit me that we haven't had a real heart-to-heart since we both moved to Charlotte for work. Ngl I tried to bring up something personal last week and he just changed the subject to his fantasy football draft. I get we're busy and adult life is draining, but is this just what happens after 30 or did I miss some unspoken memo? Has anyone else looked at a friendship from years back and realized you're now just comfortable strangers?
