The $8 cabinet hinge jig I mocked turned out to be genius

My brother handed me this little plastic hinge jig at Thanksgiving, said it would save me an hour on each door. I laughed at it because the instructions were in three languages and the photos looked like potato quality. Last weekend I had to hang 14 cabinet doors at my rental property in Boise and decided to try it just to shut him up. It lined up every hinge perfectly, no measuring tape, and I finished all 14 doors in about 90 minutes. Has anyone else found a cheap tool they swore was a gimmick but ended up using constantly?

The "genius" part is probably just the price, because a sharp pencil and steady hand do the same thing.
