Am I the only one who thinks AI art generators are killing real creativity?

Last week I watched a guy "make" 200 images in 10 minutes at a coffee shop in Nashville and he couldn't even tell me what brush strokes look like. I spent a whole summer learning to mix paint properly and that feels like it matters way more than typing a prompt, doesn't it?

Reminds me of that guy who bragged about his AI "art" but couldn't draw a stick figure.

That "couldn't draw a stick figure" part gets me every time. It's like people think using a machine to make something means they've actually learned a skill. I see this everywhere now, not just with art. My neighbor bought a pressure washer and spent all weekend blasting dirt off his driveway and posted about it like he was a master cleaner. But ask him to mix the right soap or fix a leaky hose and he's got no clue. Same thing with cooking. Everyone uses an air fryer and thinks they're a chef now. Real skill comes from putting in the time and messing up a bunch. That AI stuff just hides the fact that you haven't learned the basics yet.

Read some article saying most people using AI tools can't even explain how the basic process works.
