Found out how much energy my EV uses just sitting in traffic
Looked at the FordPass app after being stuck on I-5 for 40 minutes last Friday and the battery drain was way higher than I expected, like 4% just creeping along. Has anyone else checked their real-time consumption in stop and go and been surprised by the numbers?

That 4% drain just creeping along is exactly the kind of thing that makes you stop and think... it's like how we never notice the small stuff until it adds up, you know? Same way I'll look at my phone battery after a day of doomscrolling and wonder where it all went. It's just a reminder that every little thing we do has a cost, even if we don't see it right away.

Just read this piece about how our brains are wired to ignore slow changes, like how a frog won't jump out if you heat the water slowly. It made me think about that 4% drain too. Our attention spans lock onto big sudden drops, but that creeping drain slips right past us. Same with all those background apps running all day, they add up without us ever noticing. It's wild how much we miss just because it happens slow.
