I just blew $300 on a 'smart' AI writing tool that basically just rewords my own sentences

That is such a brutal feeling. Watched a demo video and got totally sold on the magic. Then you use it and it's just a fancy thesaurus. Happened to me with a different tool last year. Felt like such a waste of money.

Actually a lot of those tools are just fancy paraphrasers, not real writers. They can't really make new ideas, just shuffle your own words around. It's a common trick that gets a lot of people.

Ugh, that's the worst... been there with a subscription service that did the same thing. Honestly, check if they have a refund policy, a lot of them have a short window if you push a little. Sometimes you can get your money back if you just bought it.

Oh man, I feel this so hard. Tbh I got burned by one of those "content creator" apps that just spit out total word salad. It sounded so smart in the ads, but using it was just frustrating. You're totally right about pushing for a refund, I wish I had tried that. The whole thing just makes you feel kinda dumb for falling for it.
