I spent 6 hours fighting an AI image generator for one simple output
Everyone raves about these tools being instant and perfect. I needed a basic product photo background swap and it kept adding weird textures and shadows that ruined the look. Six hours of tweaking prompts and settings before I got something usable. Has anyone else found these AI tools are way harder to control than people admit?

Did you see that article about how the guy who made Stable Diffusion basically said these tools are designed to look impressive in demos, not for actual real world use? Because that matches my experience perfectly. I tried to swap a background on a simple product shot, and the AI kept adding these weird reflective shadows that looked like the item was sitting on a mirror. It also added this random texture that made the product look like it was covered in sand. Took me a solid 4 hours of tweaking the prompt to even get close, and I still had to fix a bunch of stuff in Photoshop. The whole 'instant and perfect' thing is just marketing hype.

Totally agree with you @keith900. I feel personally attacked every time I try to use one of those "one click background swap" tools. My record is spending an entire evening fighting with a prompt just to remove a weird glowing halo that kept appearing around a coffee mug. Ended up giving up and doing it by hand in GIMP in like 5 minutes. The hype is real but the reality is just me crying into my keyboard.
