Just saw a stat that blew my mind about AI energy use
Read that one ChatGPT query uses like 10x more electricity than a Google search. Found it in a report from the International Energy Agency last week. Has anyone else seen numbers like that and gotten worried?

Jumping off that - it's not just the electricity either, those data centers need tons of water for cooling (like, enough to fill a small lake kind of tons). And with everyone racing to build bigger AI models, those numbers are only going up, which is kind of scary when you think about the climate goals we're supposed to be hitting.

Yeah @reed.elliot that's a good point but actually some of the newer data centers are moving to recycled water or even dry cooling systems to cut down on the water use. Doesn't make the electric bill any smaller though, right?
