TIL the $29 course on prompt writing beat the $400 AI tool subscription I bought in January
I grabbed a $400 yearly plan for one of those all in one AI writing tools back in January, thinking it would fix my workflow overnight. It did not. The output was fine but I could not get it to match my voice no matter how I worded things. Then I paid $29 for a plain prompt writing course from a guy in Omaha, and the first lesson about giving the model a role plus 3 examples of the tone I wanted did more in one afternoon than the fancy tool did all winter. I cancelled the $400 plan in March and I have been using the free chat tools with better prompts ever since. The silly part is the tool was never the problem, my prompts were lazy. Has anyone else paid for the premium AI app and found out a $20 class did the real work?
A $400 plan in January and you waited until March to cancel? That is a lot of patience for something that was not working. Giving the model a role and a few examples is like the most basic advice out there, so I am not sure it needed a $29 course to teach you.
