Was at a coffee shop in Portland last week and watched a guy use AI to rewrite his entire menu in 5 minutes

Dude sat down with a tablet, snapped a photo of his handwritten menu board, and had some AI tool rewrite it in French and Spanish in like 5 mins. Made me think about how I still spend hours formatting emails for clients. Has anyone else seen a random demo that just made you feel behind?

Bet that menu translation lost some local Portland flavor though, right?

Guessed I should've brought my own translator after all, because "artisan kale" apparently means "slightly wilted spinach" in some circles. My fault for ordering the "Portland fusion bowl" without asking what was in it first. But hey, at least the description made it sound fancy on paper even if the reality was a bit... well, we'll call it a learning experience.

Noticed that too, maybe the AI just swapped in literal translations without catching the vibe of like "locally roasted" or "small batch." Could see someone ending up with "artisan kale" actually meaning "kale made by artists" in the other language. Kinda feels like we're trading that local barista charm for efficiency, losing the little mistakes that make places feel real.
