Air fryer vs oven for roasted broccoli: the air fryer won by a mile

I did a side by side test last night with two heads of broccoli, one roasted at 400 in the oven for 20 minutes and the other in the air fryer at 375 for 10 minutes. The air fryer one came out way crispier and had more flavor without getting soggy at all. Has anyone else found the air fryer just nukes certain vegetables better than the oven?

@stone.lisa you nailed it. The speed thing is huge for me too.

Lean into the air fryer thing because it fits a bigger pattern I keep noticing in my life. Everything in the modern world is about speed and efficiency, right? The air fryer just gets you there faster with less fuss, and that's kind of the whole vibe of 2024. I mean, we all want good results but nobody has time for preheating a big oven for 15 minutes just to roast a tray of broccoli (my oven takes forever to heat up, it's annoying). The air fryer cuts that wait time in half and gives you that crispy texture that the oven struggles with unless you're really careful about not overcrowding the pan. It's like the difference between using a microwave for a quick meal and actually cooking something from scratch, except the air fryer is actually good. I bet in ten years, air fryers will be as standard as microwaves in every kitchen, and we'll wonder how we ever lived without them.

The air fryer one came out way crispier" is exactly what I found when I tried this with brussel sprouts last week lol. My kitchen smelled like a commercial fryer for days though so I’m not sure if it was worth it.
