Can we talk about frozen fries in the air fryer?

I tried cooking a bag of regular crinkle cuts versus some shoestring fries I had, both at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. The shoestrings came out way crispier and didn't get soggy in the middle like the thicker ones did. What's your go-to frozen potato for the air fryer?

Ever try the waffle cut ones? I had a bag of those once and they were a total mess, stuck to the basket in a million little squares. I spent more time scraping them out than eating. My go-to is actually just the basic thin straight cuts, they seem to get that even crisp without the hassle.

Remember when those thick steak fries turned into soggy potato logs in my air fryer.

Oh man, waffle cuts are the worst for that. Had the exact same thing happen with a basket full of potato glue. Those thin straight cuts are totally the safe bet, they just work every time. My personal favorite is actually the extra crispy thin crinkles, they get that perfect snap all the way through. Anything too thick just never seems to cook right in the middle for me.
