Ditched the basket insert for a mesh tray and my chicken came out 10x crispier

I finally swapped out the standard basket that came with my Cosori for a cheap mesh tray from Amazon and now my thighs don't come out soggy on the bottom anymore, anyone else ditch the stock basket and see a big difference?

I gotta push back on this one a bit. "10x crispier" seems like a stretch to me. I actually tried a mesh tray and ended up going back to the stock basket because the mesh let too much fat drip down and made a huge mess in the bottom of my air fryer. Plus, the chicken came out drier on the edges where the wire touched it, not crispier all over. Do you really not notice any weird hot spots or uneven cooking with the mesh?

I grabbed a silicone liner with little holes in it off Amazon for like 12 bucks and it changed everything for me. It still lets air move around but keeps most of the fat from dripping down, and I just toss it in the dishwasher when I'm done. Chicken wings come out way more even, no dry spots where the wires dug in.
