Frozen chicken wings came out rubbery after 25 minutes in the basket

Last Tuesday I tossed some frozen party wings in my Ninja air fryer at 380 degrees, no thawing, and they came out with this weird rubbery skin that was totally chewy. I figured the extra time would crisp them up but instead they just got tough on the outside and dry inside. Anyone know the right temp or trick for getting frozen wings actually crispy in an air fryer?

Are we really stressing over chicken wings like it’s a science project?

Crank it to 400 and shake every 8 minutes like they said. That fixed it for me. Also pat them dry with a paper towel first if you can.

380 is too low for frozen wings. Crank it to 400 and give them a full 30 minutes. Shake the basket every 8 minutes to break up the ice crystals. You gotta let them steam off before they crisp.
