Heard someone say preheating the air fryer is a must for crispy fries
I was waiting for my order at a food truck in Austin last week. Guy next to me told his friend you gotta preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes or the texture sucks. I never preheat mine. My fries come out fine but maybe they could be better. So which side is right do you really see a difference or is it overhyped?

Why would you bother waiting 5 extra minutes for marginally better fries? I tested it once and the difference was so small I couldn't tell which was which. Save the time and skip preheating.

I used to be on the no preheat team until I did a side by side batch with frozen fries. Did the preheated ones come out noticeably crispier and I've been doing it ever since.
