I compared frozen chicken wings from the bag vs. fresh ones in my air fryer and the difference is huge

I finally did a side by side test last weekend with two batches of wings. One bag of frozen Tyson wings, one batch of fresh wings I bought from the meat counter. Same seasoning, same temp at 400 degrees, same 25 minute cook time. The fresh ones came out way crispier and juicier on the inside, not even close. The frozen ones got that weird rubbery texture no matter what I did. Has anyone else found that fresh wings are worth the extra 5 bucks?

Wait did you actually pat the frozen ones dry before seasoning or just toss them in straight from the bag? I think that's the main variable people miss with frozen wings.

Did you try patting the frozen ones dry before cooking? I find that helps some but yeah fresh is almost always better in my experience.

Oh totally, patting them dry is a game changer (especially if you're in a rush and don't have fresh on hand).
