I read that air fryers can cut cooking oil use by up to 80% compared to deep frying

I was looking up some facts for a school project my kid was doing and found this on a university food science website. They tested things like fries and chicken tenders. The air fryer used just a tablespoon of oil for a whole batch that would have needed over half a cup in a deep fryer. That's a huge difference! It made me feel way better about making crispy snacks at home. Has anyone else seen a big drop in their oil bottle usage since getting an air fryer?

Wait, your deep fryer batch needed over half a cup of oil?

I used to think it was just a fad, but seeing that it cuts oil use by 80% is pretty wild. My oil bottle lasts forever now.

Right @evan_green52's egg test is what sold me too, no more greasy spatula wipes lol. My roommate still uses a whole stick of butter for everything and I'm like "bro, just get a sprayer.

Right? That 80% thing got me too. @ruby_jones gonna be stocking up on oil for the next decade now that she's finally using less than half a cup per batch.

My spray bottle uses maybe a tablespoon for a whole pan. The real test was making eggs without that gross pool of grease at the bottom.
