My air fryer kept burning the bottom of my salmon fillets no matter what I did.

It took me nearly 4 months of trying different temps and times before I realized I just needed to flip the fish halfway through, has anyone else had a fix that simple take way too long to figure out?

Wait, you weren't flipping your fish the whole time either?

Gotta push back on this a little. I've been air frying salmon for years and I never flip it. The key is to pat the fillets bone dry with paper towels first, then brush a thin layer of oil on the skin side only. I cook it skin side down at 400 for about 8 minutes depending on thickness and it comes out perfect every time, crispy bottom and tender middle. Flipping it just messes up that crust you're trying to build. Sorry but I think the real fix here is moisture control, not flipping.

My buddy Dave had the same issue with chicken thighs. He was spraying oil on them, flipping them too early, washing the basket every time. Took him like two months before he stopped preheating and just threw the chicken in cold. Fixed everything. He was about to throw the air fryer out the window.
