My air fryer smoked out the whole break room at work on Tuesday

Tried to reheat a saucy burrito in the communal air fryer during my lunch break and it set off the smoke alarm, everyone stared at me for like 10 minutes. Has anyone else had a sauce-heavy dish turn into a disaster zone in one of these things, or am I just cursed?
