My friend called my air fryer chicken 'sad' and now I get it
I was making wings for game night and my buddy straight up said they looked like sad, pale little nuggets. He told me to pat them totally dry and add a tiny bit of cornstarch to the rub. Tried it last night and wow, the skin got so crispy without being greasy. Anyone have other tricks for getting that perfect crunch?

My friend once said my cooking looked like a science experiment gone wrong. I get wanting crispy chicken, but it's just a weeknight dinner, not a cooking show. The cornstarch trick is fine, but sometimes I just want to eat without doing a whole science project first. If the chicken tastes good and you're not serving it to a food critic, it's probably fine. We've all eaten way worse things and survived.

My grandma used to say you eat with your eyes first. If I'm spending 30 minutes cooking, I want it to look decent too. A little cornstarch isn't a science project, it's just taking basic pride in your food. I mean, sure it tastes fine, but why settle for fine when a tiny bit of effort makes it great? It's not about being a food critic, it's about caring what you put on your own plate.

Science experiment gone wrong" is such a perfect way to put it. I feel that so hard. As long as it tastes good, who cares what it looks like on a random Tuesday.
