My mom called my chicken wings "dry" and it stung but she was right

I always just tossed wings in flour and threw them in at 400 for 25 minutes. She straight up said "these taste like the inside of a shoe" lol. So I tried a baking powder coating instead of flour and dropped the temp to 375 for 20 minutes. First batch came out way crispier. Anyone else get roasted by family and actually learn something?

Tastes like the inside of a shoe" - that's a pretty specific description. My friend Tom tried it last week at a potluck. He took one bite and told me it reminded him of an old leather boot that got left out in the rain. I thought he was just being dramatic until I saw the look on his face. Turns out the person who brought it used some kind of weird spice blend that didn't work at all. @linda_dixon49, I don't know who "she" is, but Tom would definitely agree with that shoe comparison.
