My neighbor in apartment 4B swore you could air fry a whole egg in its shell.
I tried it for 15 minutes at 350 degrees, and let's just say my kitchen smelled like sulfur for a week and I had to clean exploded egg off the basket, so has anyone actually found a safe way to cook eggs in an air fryer?

Is it really that big of a deal? You can just boil eggs the normal way, and it works fine every time. Seems like an odd thing to force.

That sounds like a science experiment gone wrong. Maybe just hard boil them first?

Maybe @allen.kai is right about boiling being easier, but the air fryer method works if you poke a hole in the shell first.

Wait, you have to poke a hole in the egg before you put it in the air fryer? That sounds like a huge mess waiting to happen. I can just imagine egg white spraying everywhere. Why go through all that extra trouble when a pot of water does the job without any risk? It seems like people are trying to use an air fryer for absolutely everything now.
