PSA: My neighbor in apartment 3B told me to stop spraying oil directly on my fries before air frying.

She said it makes them soggy and to toss them in a bowl with a teaspoon of oil instead. Has anyone else tried this method with different veggies?

Your neighbor is right about the bowl method. It coats the food way more evenly without drowning it. I use a big mixing bowl for broccoli and cauliflower, a tiny bit of oil, and toss until every piece has a light shine. The air fryer then crisps them up perfectly instead of steaming them. It's the only way I do vegetables now.

I actually just drizzle oil right on the tray and toss them there. One less bowl to wash and it works fine for me.

Honestly it's just vegetables for the air fryer. Does the extra bowl really make that big of a difference in the end result? Seems like a lot of fuss for something that's gonna get cooked anyway. My way gets them crispy enough and saves a step. Are we overthinking dinner side dishes now?
