Tried that with potato wedges last week. Ended up burning them because I got distracted by a Teams message. Still better than the vending machine stuff though.

Ugh, totally feel you on that. I did the exact same thing with some garlic bread under the broiler last month. Got pulled into a stupid chat about Q3 goals and came back to a solid black brick. The smell lasted for days. Still, even charcoal bread beats that stale, overpriced junk from downstairs every single time.

Oh man, that's the worst! But I gotta say, I actually like the vending machine chips sometimes (the plain ones). They're salty and predictable, you know? A burnt cookie is just sad. At least the chips are always the same level of stale.
