The 20 minute rule for frozen fries is a lie, right?

I picked up a bag of those crispy curly fries at the Walmart in Flagstaff last week. Bag said 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes, no preheat. I set it for 18, pulled them out, and they were still pale and floppy in the middle. Put them back for another 8 minutes and they finally got some crunch. Every single time I follow the package directions in my air fryer, I add at least 5 minutes. Is my machine just weak or does everyone else deal with this too? What's your go-to time for frozen fries from a standard 6 quart basket?

Nah, mine cooks them way faster than that, maybe your bag is old or something.
