The 9pm air fryer smoke show in my kitchen

Last Tuesday I tried to crisp up leftover wings at 400 degrees without preheating, and the smoke alarm went off while my neighbor was knocking on the door asking if everything was okay. Turns out the tray was overloaded and the grease dripped straight onto the heating coil. Anyone else had a late-night air fryer incident that ended with windows open and a fan running?

Did you at least get some crispy wings out of it before the fire department showed up? Mine ended up tasting like regret and burnt oil, took me a week to get the smell out of my hair.
