Tried frozen taquitos in the air fryer and they came out sad and chewy

I had a bag of frozen taquitos from Costco and threw them in at 400 for 8 minutes like the bag said. They were all soggy on the bottom and the filling was actually cold still. Did another batch at 375 for 12 minutes with a flip halfway and they were crispy all around. Anyone else find that air fryer times on frozen food packages are always way off?

Maybe it's just not that deep for frozen taquitos.

My last frozen pizza box said 12 minutes at 400, but the middle was basically raw dough at that point. I ran it another 6 minutes and it finally looked like food. It feels like they just put the oven times on those packages and never actually tested them in an air fryer, which is weird because air fryers are SUPER common now. The same thing happens with my frozen fries, they always need like 5 extra minutes and a good shake or two. I think it's because air fryers heat differently than ovens, they're smaller and the air moves faster so the outside cooks way quicker than the inside. So the trick is usually to just lower the temp and add time, or just keep checking every couple minutes until it looks right. Honestly at this point I just ignore the bag entirely and go off vibes.
