Vent: My frozen fries were always soggy until I tried one thing
Used to just dump them straight from the bag. Last week, I gave them a quick spray with oil and a shake halfway. Total game changer, got them actually crispy. Anyone have a better trick for frozen potato products?

Alright, hold on. People are out here calling a sizzle sound a "game changer" like we're curing world hunger. It's a frozen fry. You preheated a pan. Congrats. I've had great oven fries straight from a cold sheet because I didn't over crowd them and flipped them once. The instant sizzle sounds nice, sure, but it's not like the fry knows the difference after twenty minutes in a 425 degree box. I feel like half the battle is just not being impatient and pulling them out too early. My wife sprays oil on hers and they come out fine but my dry, no preheat pan ones have the same crispy edges and soft middle. Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe this is all way more dramatic than it needs to be for a wedge of potato.

That oil spray trick is a solid move. My oven fries were always a sad, limp mess before I started preheating the baking sheet. Just throw the empty pan in while the oven heats up, then spread the fries on the hot surface. The instant sizzle makes a huge difference for crispiness.

Oh man, the hot pan is everything... I used to just dump them on a cold sheet and wonder why they steamed into mush. That first sizzle when they hit the metal is like the sound of success. My wedges finally get those proper crispy edges and a soft middle, almost like they're fried. Total game changer for potato night.

That instant sizzle is the best part, honestly. The first time I heard it I stood there staring at the pan like a proud dad watching his kid score a goal.

Yeah, preheating the pan is the real secret weapon. It gives them that initial sear, like they hit a hot skillet, which the oil spray then helps finish. You basically get a diner-style fry without the deep fryer.
