Back in '09, an old-timer in the hangar showed me a trick for freeing a seized bleed air valve with a heat gun and a can of penetrating oil... worked every time since.

Remember thinking my grandpa was nuts for putting salt in his coffee. Tried it once when we ran out of creamer and it actually cuts the bitterness. Makes you wonder how many other weird old tricks actually work. We just dismiss stuff before giving it a real shot.

My grandma swore by putting a pinch of salt in her oatmeal, and she was right. So much old advice gets written off as nonsense.
