Had to pick between a cherry picker and scaffolding for a panel job on a King Air
Last month I was doing a belly panel repair on a King Air 200 at a small FBO in Wichita. No hangar space, so I had to work outside in the wind. I went with the cherry picker cause I could move it fast, but trying to hold a drill and a sealant gun steady while the basket was swaying was a nightmare. Took me three hours longer than I expected. Anyone else have a preference for outdoor sheet metal work?

Yeah, I feel you on the cherry picker struggle with wind, it's rough. For outdoor King Air belly work, I actually switched to a good set of scaffolds with outriggers and sandbags, way more stable. Takes longer to set up but saved my arms and the finish from a wobbly drill bit.

Wait, you really think scaffolds with sandbags are better for a quick belly panel repair in the wind? I'd rather fight the wobble in a cherry picker for an hour than spend 30 minutes hauling and leveling all that scaffolding.
