Hiring my cousin for an apprentice spot has me split down the middle.

I have an open apprentice job at the hangar, and my cousin is pushing hard to get it. One view is that family in the shop builds a tight team since you know their work ethic and can teach them right. The other side is that mixing family with work can lead to fights over mistakes or claims of special treatment. I saw my uncle and his son clash over a missed check on a Cessna, and it took months to fix the tension. Now I'm torn between helping my cousin start out and keeping my crew running smooth without drama. What's your take on bringing relatives into aircraft maintenance?

What if your cousin cracks under the pressure of not letting family down?

My cousin survived med school, @marksanchez, cracking is IMPOSSIBLE.
