Hit 1,000 inspections without a single write-up and that got me thinking

I'm an A&P at a regional shop outside Nashville and I hit my 1,000th routine inspection on a CRJ-700 last Tuesday. It was just a standard A-check, nothing special, but when I looked back at my logbook I realized I'd never had a single sign-off discrepancy or a re-do ticket on any of those inspections. That number surprised me because I started this gig green as grass 6 years ago and I made plenty of mistakes early on, mostly with paperwork and torque values. I think the milestone matters because it shows I finally stopped rushing through the checklist and started actually looking at the little things, like cracked standpipes or chafed wiring looms that other guys miss. My lead mechanic told me I was too slow at first, but I'd rather be slow and clean than fast and sloppy. Has anyone else tracked their own inspection record like that and found a number that caught you off guard?

@bennett.evan I'm with you on that honestly lol. Been doing inspections for about 5 years now and I think I'd be scared to look at my own record. Better to miss something small now than have it turn into a big deal later.

Man, I gotta say 1,000 inspections without a single write-up sounds like you're either the luckiest guy in Nashville or you're not catching everything you should be.

Actually I gotta push back on that a little bit. 1000 inspections with zero write ups is pretty wild but the way you worded it kinda makes it sound like you HAVE to write something up to be doing your job right lol. Some guys are just really good at catching stuff during the inspection and getting it fixed on the spot before it becomes a write up situation. Plus a lot of that depends on the inspector you get and how strict they are with the local codes. I've seen guys who'll write you up for a loose outlet cover and then others who'll let slide some pretty sketchy shit if you just fix it while they're standing there. Not saying everyone's clean but having a clean record doesn't automatically mean someone's slacking.
