Just hit 500 hours on a single set of brake pads on a Citation

I was doing the 500 hour check on a Citation CJ3 and the brake pads were still in spec. I had to double check the logbook, but it's true. Usually we see them needing a change around 300, maybe 350 if the pilot is really gentle. This pilot must be doing something right with their taxi and landing technique. It got me thinking about how much wear and tear comes from hard braking on the ground. Has anyone else seen a set go this far on a light jet, or did I just get lucky with this one?

Damn, 500 hours is wild. What's their secret, feather-light landings every time?

Reminds me of how gentle driving saves my own car's brakes.

My grandma's toaster lasted 30 years because she never forced the lever down.
