My stubborn avionics panel decided to cooperate today

I've been tracing a ghost signal for what feels like forever. Applied a new grounding technique, and bam, it's clean.

Clean signal just means you finally did the job right the first time. The plane wasn't arguing, it was waiting for you to fix your mistake, @the_zara. That's not a good feeling, it's just relief you stopped messing it up.

Whats the deal with gear that only works after you've almost given up on it? My old DME box did that for a month, showing random bearing spikes. Felt so good to finally see a steady needle after redoing a coax shield. That clean signal is the best feeling, like the plane just decided to stop arguing with you.

Remember when my old radio would crackle until I tapped it just right?

Oh man, that specific kind of crackle is so familiar. My first car's speaker would do that over bumps, a fuzzy static that cleared up for a while if you punched the dashboard just above the glove box. It's like the machine needs a little physical persuasion to remember how to do its job.
