That one phrase from an IA inspector stuck with me
Was working a line check on a CRJ-900 in Denver last Friday. IA guy walks by and says "most crashes happen because somebody got bored." Hit me hard. How many times have I rushed a walkaround because I'd done it 50 times that month? That boredom is the killer. Anyone else have a routine check that almost got you because you stopped paying attention?

Started walking around the right side of a 737 last summer and almost missed the flap track fairing was loose. Same feeling, like my brain checked out because "it's always fine." How do you keep yourself from that auto-pilot mode when you are doing the same check for the fifth time in a shift?
