The IA who told me to stop chasing perfect torque values
Been busting my hump for 8 years getting every fastener to the exact spec, then this old IA at a shop in Phoenix tells me it's about the feel and the fastener condition, not the number on the gun. He said a corroded bolt torqued perfectly is worse than a clean bolt torqued by hand. Anyone else think the obsession with digital torque wrenches is killing the actual skill, or is that old-timer just stuck in his ways?
