Always doubted those wireless alarm panels until I put one in my own house

Installed a Honeywell Lynx at my brother's place in Phoenix last month after swearing by wired systems for 7 years and the thing picked up a glass break from 40 feet away through two walls has anyone else had that kind of range with wireless?

My 60 year old hands can barely program a smart thermostat, so I went with a wireless DSC system out of pure laziness two years ago. First week there was a false alarm from a raccoon bumping the trash can in the garage, which scared the living daylights out of me but also showed it could catch something through cinder block. It never missed a real window break though, and I accidentally tested that when the neighbor kid's baseball went through the basement window last August. The system caught the glass before I even heard it, so maybe I was wrong about wireless being useless.

Felt that. I was the same way for years, told everyone wired was the only way and wireless was for people who didn't care about reliability. But then my buddy @jennifer833 had me help him patch up his DSC system after that raccoon incident and I saw how quick it caught a smashed cup in the kitchen. Ended up putting a wireless panel in my own place six months back and last week a branch hit the back door glass and I got the alert on my phone before the pieces even finished falling on the floor. Still can't shake the feeling that I'm trusting a radio signal with my house, but honestly it's been way more solid than I ever gave it credit for.

Did you guys have any trouble with the wireless sensors dying in the cold, or is that just an old myth?
