Had a client tell me my panel placement was 'ugly' last Tuesday

I went to install a DSC PowerSeries in a house near Nashville and the guy watched me mount the panel in the utility room. He said it ruined his 'aesthetic flow' and asked if I could hide it behind a painting. I told him that's against fire code and he got real quiet. It made me think about how even simple advice gets ignored when people focus on looks over safety. How do you handle homeowners who want form over function without losing the job?

Tell him the panel stays or you do, simple as that.

Actually had to put my foot down like that once with a roommate about a couch. Having that clear "either this happens or I'm out" boundary worked way better than I expected. Sometimes being that blunt is the only thing people actually listen to, even if it feels awkward in the moment.

Heard a podcast say the same thing about setting firm boundaries with roommates.
