Had a panel in a Riverside house go nuts at 3am and the homeowner called me 4 times
Last Thursday I finished a full panel swap in Riverside and everything tested clean before I left. At 3am the homeowner called saying the siren was going off and the keypad was showing zones that dont even exist on that system. I drove back out at 4am and found the backup battery was old and swelling, which was messing with the board voltage. Swapped in a new battery and it been quiet for 5 days now. How do you all handle old batteries on a takeover job, do you always replace them or just test and hope?
