Had a weirdly perfect install day last Thursday in a 1920s house in Portland

Those old houses are a dream to work on. The plaster is usually rock solid and the framing is dead straight. It's a nice change from some of the newer builds where nothing is plumb. You can tell they used good materials back then. Makes the whole day less of a fight.

Wish I could say the same about my DIY skills. I'm pretty sure my last shelf is holding on through sheer hope and a prayer.
