PSA: A customer's 'simple' attic run turned into a full day of cutting through 1950s plaster and lath.
They wanted a motion sensor in a finished attic, but the walls were solid plaster over diagonal lath with zero cavities, so I had to hand-cut a channel for the wire. My helper said 'just surface mount it,' but the homeowner insisted on a clean, hidden install, so we spent 8 hours doing careful demolition and repair. How do you guys handle those old plaster jobs when a customer won't budge on hiding the wire?

Eight hours for one wire? No way.

Yeah, I had that happen last week. Just had to pull the whole dash to get to it.

Oh man, tell me about it. I once spent a whole afternoon just trying to fish one single connector up through a firewall. Had to take the glove box out, the knee panel, the whole deal. By the end I was just sitting there staring at a pile of plastic trim for a stupid little green wire. Felt like a real genius.
