Set off a false alarm at a church last Tuesday and the pastor was not happy
I was running new wiring in the old sanctuary at St. Mary's in Akron and bumped a terminal block that shorted the whole zone. Had the whole neighborhood calling in while the pastor was mid-sermon. Anyone else ever trip a zone during a live service?

Did you at least get to finish the wiring before they kicked you out?

It's wild how people treat contractors like we're invisible until something goes wrong, then suddenly we're the enemy. Happens all the time with my crew, folks act like we're supposed to read their minds about when to work or stop. Ever notice how nobody ever thanks the person who actually makes the building systems work?

kicked you OUT"? Wait, what? They literally tossed you out before you could finish the wiring? That is ABSOLUTELY insane. I thought you were just working late or something, not getting physically thrown out of a building. Like, did security grab you by the arm and escort you out while you were holding a wire stripper? I can't believe they'd pull that move when you were in the middle of an active install. That's gotta be some kind of OSHA violation or at least really bad management. What a total nightmare of a night shift that turned into.

Man, that pastor definitely had a rough day. I remember one time I was working on a fire alarm system at a big community center and I accidentally set off the whole building during a kids talent show. Parents were running everywhere with their kids crying, it was a total mess. The guy running the show was just standing there staring at me like I'd ruined his life. It's funny how these things always happen at the worst possible moment, kind of like what @ellis.faith was saying about getting kicked out mid-install. Makes you wonder if the universe just has it out for us alarm guys sometimes.
