Showerthought: I thought glass break sensors were just a fancy add-on

I used to skip them on most jobs, thinking a good motion sensor covered it. Then I saw a demo where a guy threw a rock through a window from 15 feet away and the motion detector didn't go off because of the angle. The glass break sensor caught it instantly. Now I always offer them for ground floor windows. Has anyone else had a moment that changed their mind on a specific sensor type?

That glass sensor going off while the motion light stayed quiet is a wild flaw in the system. It shows how two parts that should work together can totally miss the threat. Makes you wonder if you need sensors on every single window just to feel safe. What kind of alarm system did he have that let that happen?

Ever hear about the guy who had his car broken into in his own driveway? His motion light never turned on because they just reached in the passenger window, but his glass sensor went nuts. Totally changed how he saw perimeter alarms.
